I am doing remodeling at my house and bought this little tool to cut about 10ft of 100 yr old heavy duct work. It worked very well and still looks and cuts like new. I would have probably chosen a professional dedicated tool if I had to use it every day.
¡Era la primera vez que usaba esta herramienta y funciona muy bien! Pasé un minuto enseñándome a mí mismo cómo usarlo y corté un círculo perfecto la primera vez. La paciencia es la clave.
I'm one of those that have been struggling with tin snips, Dremel tool, and other methods taught by my father. I was looking through the web on how to cut curves in sheet metal and found this. It is easy to use and freehand guide along a curve. I actually looped a wire around the head, anchored the other end to a screw and cut a near perfect inside hole 11" diameter. It leaves small chips behind, so I cut over a cardboard box.
Works better than expected. I use this to cut out shapes in brass sheet for my repair shop needs. 2 weeks delivery to Latvia.
Product seems good, but can be slow for long cuts. Also, it's somewhat difficult to go through tall ribs of a steel roofing panel (need to bend the tool around the contours). Took me about 10 minutes to make one cut lengthwise on a 12' sheet of metal roofing. I realize the time will depend on the drill speed - I used a cordless drill on high speed (still took about 8-10 minutes per cut). The product does work good though and I don't regret buying it. Makes a nice clean cut and had no problem going through steel roofing. If you need to make rounded cuts then this is the tool for you. If you have a lot of long cuts to make in steel roofing panels metal shears or an abrasive blade will be a lot faster.
Amazingly effective tool for cutting through sheet metal, although it won't leave you with smooth cut. Basically it works like a very fast hole punch so you get lots of little semi circles along the path you cut. It is extremely efficient at cutting fast and it is easy to control and change direction while cutting. I found when I went slow I could minimize the rough edges enough to make it fairly easy to clean up with a metal file or pair of snippets.
This takes getting use to. It cuts not like your typical jig saw. It's smoother and glides smoothly so you can loose control if you don't go slow. It cuts effortlessly. Unless your typical saw, the cuts are wider about 3/16 so you have to take that in consideration. I found that out when I made my cut. They don't tell you that on the videos. Much easier than snippers.
This thing is amazing on HVAC duct work. I can cut out a 20x20 panel on 5 minutes!
least expensive way to get into using a cutter. I looked at one even that makita makes that costs around 50-600 dollars and will do 10 gauge and others but the idea of a dedicated power source kind of puts the nibbler out of the budget of a lot of people. I was look at the ones like this that use your own drill to power it and it came back to replacement parts. This kit actually gives you three head and the nibbling shafts as well. It worked like a charm. I need to cut into the bed of my 1973 ford truck and it just ate that truck bed up. Very nice cutting edges as well. I see lots of applications for this and only 45 bucks cant beat that.
